Karsavina Syllabus
The Royal Academy of Dance Methodology is a technique of classical ballet that was founded and developed by Tamara Karsavina, a Russian ballerina and teacher, and one of the founding members of the RAD, in the early 19th century. The method emphasizes a strong and controlled technique, as well as expressive artistry and musicality.
Many dancers and ballet professionals consider the Karsavina method to be one of the most rigorous and effective training methods for classical ballet. Karsavina was a leading ballerina at Ballet Russes (1909-1929) the Karsavina Syllabus was formally launched in 1954. It is widely used in ballet schools and has been adopted by many ballet companies around the world.
The Karsavina method places great importance on the development of strength, flexibility, and grace in the dancer, as well as the ability to express emotion through movement. The method is known for its clear and precise instruction, as well as its emphasis on musicality and artistry.
Junior Dance Program
7 - 11 yrs. Floor work, Classical Class and Variation. Students will receive classes solely conducted in the Royal Academy of Dance method and will be examined by a Royal Academy of Dance Examiner at the end of each year. Students who are successful will receive a certificate of achievement and progress to the next level.
Petit Dance Program
5 to 6 yrs. Pre-Primary and Primary. Floor work, Classical Class and improvisation. An energetic warm up is followed by physical skills development, as children learn structured foundational movement material.
Senior Dance Program
12 - 16 yrs. Floor work, classical class, Pointe class and Variation. A program designed for dancers who have the passion and desire to train with professional teachers in a safe, encouraging environment.
Extra Curricular Classes
We are passionate about helping the next generation of dancers achieve their dream. This is why we offer extra curricular classes outside students’ regular school training environment. Should a student wish to train with us, it is imperative that students obtain permission from their regular teacher.
